Hello and welcome to my home page

I am an independent music teacher, established in 1991.  I work with students of all ages in Malvern, Worcester and the surrounding areas, teaching piano and flute, and providing accompaniment for singers and instrumental players in exams, or for recreation.

A former primary school teacher, I was educated at Worcester Girls Grammar School, and Bath College of Higher Education where I gained my teaching degree, specialising in music.

I began learning the piano at the age of nine, receiving influential tuition from Rodney Baldwin (former international recitalist and organist at Pershore Abbey), then John Parry (concert pianist, college tutor and ABRSM examiner). I studied flute with James McDowell and Jennifer Poll.

I am dedicated to my teaching and music-making, constantly striving for personal development, enjoyment and high standards. Above all, I hope I transmit the love of what I do to those I teach.

Teaching designed to suit you

I provide a relaxed, unpressured environment, ideal for your learning, whatever your age or ambitions.

I am situated in a quiet location in Malvern Wells, very near the Primary School. Lessons are carefully paced so that you work at your own rate of progress and develop your reading skills and technique thoroughly and effectively. I teach all ages and abilities from beginner to ABRSM Grade 8.

The music room is light and spacious, with top quality instruments.

Alternatively I can offer tuition in the comfort of your own home.
